We rush to that golden time of year called fall, when the air finally cools and you can spend weekends outside without the risk of sunstroke. So get out there with these deals and enjoy the sounds of birdsong and wind chirping through trees. Or, you know, stay in and rock out with these deals on music making and listening equipment.
No matter how you want to spend these milder weekends, we’ve got you covered. And for more recommendations, check out some of our other guides, such as Hiking 101, Best Wireless Headphones, and Gear to Learn Music Like a Pro.

You must call Sweetwater at 800-222-4700 and speak to a representative to redeem this offer. This is the most traditional Stratocaster model, with three single-coil pickups and a maple fingerboard. There are also other models on sale for the same 10 percent discount that have Pau Ferro fretboards or a humbucker in the bridge. These Mexico-built Fenders are arguably the best value-for-money electric guitars on the market. The quality is good enough that you will never feel like you have to grow out of it.
You must call Sweetwater at 800-222-4700 and speak to a representative to redeem this offer as well. Squier is Fender’s most affordable sub-brand. While you’ll notice the quality differences between an Asian-made Squier and a Mexico-made Fender, the Squier Affinity series is still the best value in electric guitars in this price range, and it comes in the classic butterscotch finish with black pickguard . As with the Strat above, the Squier Tele is available in other versions and colors with the same 10 percent discount.
This is a modeling amp, which means it can mimic the different sounds of many different types of amps. As a combo, it’s built-in with a 12-inch speaker in a cabinet, so you can just buy it, plug it in and play. Don’t be put off by the 50 watt power. It’s a solid-state amp, meaning it’s not nearly as loud as a 50-watt tube amp would be.
This is my favorite affordable hard-side acoustic guitar case. Unlike most plastic competition at this price point, the Silver Creek is completely Tolex covered wood and feels very solid, with quality metal hardware and a luxurious velvet inner lining. Mine has survived six moves since 2020 (yes, you read that right). Some commentators say it’s too tight to fit on a dreadnought guitar, but that’s not true. It’s a tight squeeze, but it needs to be tight to keep the guitar from swinging around in transit.
If you don’t want to drive your roommates crazy, plug some headphones into this largely silent electronic drum kit. Gear review editor Parker Hall recommends the TD-1DMK in his Best Gear for Learning Music guide, as they play remarkably like a conventional drum kit. The mesh drumheads feel more like standard drumheads than the rubber found on competing sets.
If you imagine a group crowding around the camp kitchen at a campground, those franks and courgettes are more than likely to sizzle on a Coleman Classic. It is well built and sturdy, and it runs on commonly available propane canisters. Cooking at low and high temperatures is a cinch, thanks to the good simmer control. For all these reasons, we named it the best overall stove in our guide to the best camping stoves.
The women’s size is for sale at the same price. Depending on where you live, you may already feel a sniff in the air at night. Get ready for fall and winter with the best value goose down jacket on the market. At the same size and weight, down is much warmer than synthetic puffies. This REI house brand jacket has been used regularly for the past three years and shows no signs of wear.
The men’s sizes are also on sale, but in an outdoor industry rarity, it’s a bit more expensive at $77. The Moab 2 is a time-tested, classic hiking shoe that offers more support and protection from rocks and branches than a running shoe, but weighs a lot less than a pair of heavy boots. This one is not lined with Gore-Tex. I find that a non-waterproof shoe dries out much faster due to rain and river crossings, and it allows better ventilation of the foot.
For the price of lunch, you get a pair of comfortable, sweat-resistant wireless earbuds that last five hours on a charge and come with a charging case. No wonder we called them the best wireless earbuds under $50 and called them a “triumph of performance for the money.”
We named the Signa S4 the Best Soundbar-Subwoofer Combo in our Best Soundbars guide. It’s simple, easy to set up and Dolby Atmos capable, which is impressive for a soundbar at this price. There are cinema, music and night modes. Night limits the subwoofer, so you don’t wake the neighbors if you’re listening late at night.
We named these the Best Workout Buds in our roundup for their comfort, resistance to dust and sweat and the ability to adjust the EQ settings via Jabra’s Sound+ app. With active noise cancellation, they also filter out that awful gym background music.
These have the best noise cancellation of any earbud we’ve experienced. Whether you’re blocking out the music of others or the street noise coming into your apartment, Sony’s digital signal processing is top-notch and you’ll get an excellent eight hours of use on a full charge. They are a little big for smaller ears, but if they work for you, they are very comfortable.
